# iPeriodRatingInfo

`iPeriodRatingInfo` is the declaration-only contract that defines the minimal set of rating attributes a policy period must expose to participate in rating comparisons; it is the base of `iPolicyPeriodBase` and the type the `PeriodRatingInfoExtensions` module operates on. Implementations live outside this library (e.g. in `SAIF.Business.View.Policy`), making this interface part of the library's primary integration boundary with higher layers.*

## Purpose
- Standardize the rating-relevant attributes (dates, extension flags, rate tier, market type) that any policy-period-like type must expose for rating comparisons ([BR-POL-018](../../business-rules.md#br-pol-018-rating-period-equality)).
- Provide a base `IEquatable(Of iPeriodRatingInfo)` contract so implementers get a uniform equality shape, with the actual comparison logic supplied by `PeriodRatingInfoExtensions.BaseEquals`.

## Behavioral notes
- This interface declares no implementation; all comparison logic lives in the `PeriodRatingInfoExtensions` module operating on these properties.
- No in-repo implementer of `iPeriodRatingInfo` directly was found; `iPolicyPeriodBase` extends it and is implemented outside this library.*

## Constraints and usage notes
- Implementers are responsible for supplying stable values for all eight attributes so that `BaseEquals`/`BaseGetHashCode` behave consistently (BR-POL-018).
